Course conditions overall continue to look pretty great. We aren’t quite sure about slush on the water crossings just yet but the big snow over the weekend did push some water up on the lower ponds (last 7K). Cold temperatures early this week should firm that up but temperatures look to moderate pretty significantly end of the week.  Deer Lake and the Dead River Basin (our “floating ski trails”) look good.  So far…so good!
Looking ahead to this coming weekends forecast from the National Weather Service – a special ongoing report just for the Noque:
The conditions look quite comfortable. We will have a long duration intermittent light snow event from late Wednesday through early Friday with a total of maybe 2-4 inches of snow over that stretch. Then it looks like just some flurries for the weekend.
Temperatures will be mild by January standards. Highs 30-35 Friday afternoon and overnight lows on Friday night only falling into the upper 20s. Highs on Saturday afternoon 30-35, lows Saturday night mid 20s, highs Sunday afternoon 30-35. Winds will be generally light from the north and northeast (<10 mph) through the whole weekend.
It’s going to be an excellent few days in the woods folks!
