Noque 12K

Please reference the “General Information” page and the race bulletin for complete event details.

Check back here regularly for more details as they become available.

Not quite ready to tackle the 24K or 50K? The 12K is a great introduction to the challenge of the Noquemanon or for novice skiers that want to participate in a larger ski event. Skiers will begin at the Forestville Trailhead and after a few kilometers of skiing, the 12K course will join the main Noquemanon course and finish at the same finish line as the full and half marathon – the Superior Dome!

Course
The 12K course includes varied terrain – hills, descents, and flat sections. The first half of the course will contain a majority of the hills and flatten out in the last half of the course. The most challenging sections for novice skiers would include a few fast descents in the first half.

Wave Assignments
Men and Women begin together in the same wave. 1 wave will be for Classic skiers and 1 wave will be for Freestyle skiers. Please reference the schedule page for start times. Start times will also be published in the skier bulletin which will be available at the Expo/packet pickup.

Packet pickup/check in
Race packets will contain a bib, race information, and other sponsor informational items.  A special participant gift for 12K skiers will need to be picked up at the hat table!

Pick up occurs on Friday evening in the NMU Superior Dome from 5pm to 10pm (eastern).  Saturday morning pick up is also available starting at 6am in the Superior Dome however we strongly advise participants check in on Friday evening if possible. THERE IS NO PACKET PICKUP AT FORESTVILLE.

Busing
Busing is available to the start of the 12K at Forestville and is strongly encouraged as there is no return busing – check the final busing schedule for complete details on departure times to the start line. Participants may be dropped off by a friend or family member and some limited parking is available for spectators. Please note that Forestville is also a strategic extraction point for emergency personnel – follow all parking signs and instructions from race organizers, aid station volunteers, and emergency personnel.

Skiers will be able to leave their tagged bags (with bib # written on the tag) with the Bag Drop at Forestville and your items will be meet you at the pick up zone inside the Superior dome.
