Registration/Race Packet Pick-up
Race registration and bib pick-up will be from 4 until 10 pm on Friday, January 25 at the Superior Dome. Same day racer packet pick-up is available upon request. Race packets contain many extras including the coveted Noque ski hats, sponsor goodies, and coupons.

Race confirmation will be sent via email (if available) or by U.S. mail. Please bring race confirmation and proof of identification to packet pick-up. All skiers will need to sign a waiver at bib pick up.

Youth Discount:
A $20 discount is offered to all youth (ages 24 and under) skiing in the 25k or 51k race.
Ski Expo:
A Ski Expo will be held during registration and bib pick-up hours on Friday, January 25. at the Superior Dome. The expo showcases our event sponsors and features wax and ski demos!
Clothing Bags:
All skiers will be given a bag as part of their registration packet. Skiers are responsible for getting their bags into the trucks next to each start area. Bags will be taken inside the Dome where they can be claimed following the race. Race officials are not responsible for lost or stolen property.

Events:
The Noquemanon offers separate classic and freestyle races and new for 2007, a touring class. Classic skiers start well in advance of the skating waves. Classic tracks and skating lanes are provided throughout the entire course.
Touring Class
The Touring Class is only available for the 51K Classic Marathon. This class is meant to be for people who are more interested in a casual skiing experience rather than a competitive race. Skiers in the 51K classic touring class will begin 40 minutes prior to their respective competitive ski race. Skiers in the touring class will not be eligible for age category or overall results prizes
Change of Events:
Requests to change races are handled by the Race Administrator. Changes within two weeks of race day must be accompanied by a $5 change request fee. Call 866-370-RACE. NO changes on race day.
Preferred Start Positions:
To be considered for higher wave placement, you must have skied in last year’s
Noquemanon or petition in. Results from Noquemanon 2007 will be used as a guideline.
Petitions must be submitted in writing two weeks in advance of race. Contact
the Race Administrator at 866-370-RACE.
Map to 51K Start Line in Ishpeming
The Birchview School gymnasium will be open prior to the start of the 51K race for warm up and restrooms.
Skier Age Groups:
Skiers will be placed into the appropriate age group based on your age on race day: 15 and under, 16-17, 18-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, and 80+. Top three in each age category will receive a Moen cowbell.
Cut off Times:
All marathon skiers must pass the 30K point of the race by 2 pm. All skiers must finish the race by 4:30 pm.
Finish Line:
The marathon end at the Superior Dome so come inside, warm up, check in your skis at the ski valet, and rejuvenate at the last aid station. Race results will be posted inside the Superior Dome, plus computers will be set up so that you can check race results. Race results will also appear in the Sunday edition of the Mining Journal and on-line at www.noquemanon.com.

Professional timing services are provided by White River Sports using chip timing.

9:00 am 51K Classic Race Start. There will be one wave. Please petition for
first row/preferential start. The first 20 from last year’s Noquemanon
are guaranteed a preferential start.
51k Freestyle
9:55 am Elite Men (first 50 from last year’s Noquemanon) and
Elite Women (first 15 from last year’s Noquemanon) 51K Freestyle Start
10:05 am First Wave - 40% back from last year’s Noquemanon winner
10:15 am Second Wave - 60% back from last year’s Noquemanon winner
10:25 am Third Wave - all other freestyle skiers

Subaru Noquemanon Ski Marathon 51K Classic Prizes:
The top finishers of the Noquemanon 51K Classic event receive cash prizes. For the men, the top five finishers receive prize. The Prize money is:
1st - $400; 2nd - $175; 3rd - $100; 4th - $75; 5th - $50
For the women, the top three finishers receive prize money. The Prizes money is:
1st - $400 ; 2nd - $175 ; 3rd - $100
The 51K classic event is also the featured event for the American Ski Marathon Series and the FIS North American Marathon Cup.
Top Three Freestyle Awards:
The top three winners of the 51K Freestyle receive the large, beautiful Moen Cowbells, plus exceptional merchandise awards.

Other Information
Parking/Busing:
The Subaru Noquemanon Ski Marathon starts at Al Quaal Recreation Area in Ishpeming and finishes at the Superior Dome in Marquette. There is plenty of parking at both locations. Busing is available from the Superior Dome to the start line prior to race start and after race finish.
Food and First Aid Stations
Seven aid stations are located approximately every 7K throughout the course. They will contain warm HEED Energy Drink and water, oranges and/or bananas. The 25K aid station will also be stocked with Hammer Gel. All aid stations are manned by local volunteers and service club members. Please thank them as you pass by.
The Marquette County Search and Rescue and Ham Radio Operators will be on the course.
Spaghetti Feed at St. Michael's Parish
Girl Scouts of Peninsula Waters will again offer a Spaghetti Feed at St. Michael’s Parish (located across from the Superior Dome) from 4:30 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 25, 2008. Stop in either before or after picking up your registration packet. Meal includes: spaghetti with meat sauce or marinara sauce, salad, breadstick, beverage and Girl Scout Cookies. Tickets may be purchased at the Dome, at the door, or on your entry form or by calling the Girl Scout office at 1-800-562-9787.
Cost is $6 for adults, $3 for youth ages 6 – 12, and free for youth ages 5 and under when accompanying an adult. A family ticket is available for $20 (immediate family members only, please).
Plan to attend the Spaghetti Feed and get a jump start on other racers. The spaghetti is served piping hot, the bread sticks are drenched in garlic butter, and the Girl Scout Cookies are a true taste treat!

Available at the Superior Dome on race day by advance arrangements. Call Race Administrator at
866-370-RACE for details.

Marquette photographer Andy Gregg will be on the trail snapping photos. You can purchase them through his web site www.marquettephoto.com. Gregg has been published in regional and national publications.
Awards Ceremony:
The Subaru Noquemanon Ski Marathon Awards Ceremony will be held on Saturday,
January 26th at 7 pm in Upfront & Company’s Ball Room in Downtown Marquette.
Random prizes will be given out. Only those in attendance are eligible to win.
Stay afterward for entertainment and dancing.
