Grooming of the course was completed earlier this week between CR 510 and the Dead River Basin. That’s good news for conditions in that section.

Warm weather continues for the region which so far has helped firm up the snow pack. What remains unknown is how much rain will come in this evening and its resulting impact. The forecast is mixed on both weather systems for this evening and this weekend. Rain and freezing rain this evening is expected to turn to snow at some point with a trace to 2 inches in our area – how much is rain and how much is snow is not quite known so we will have to see how it plays out. Most of the melt will occur today/tonight however with the current snowpack we have there’s no real concern of not having groomable snow at the end of this warmup. A second system is expected to impact the area on Saturday afternoon and night. Forecasts are mixed at this time but there is the potential for 4-6 inches if things go our way – colder air will arrive with this system. Looking forward it seems as though we can expect “normal” temperatures for the mid part of the month with a change to very cold/arctic air moving in for the end of the month. We will have to keep our eyes on that as we get closer to the Noquemanon weekend.
