Final trail report:
The course is shaping up to deliver outstanding trail conditions this year thanks to record snowfall, sustained cold temperatures, and significant upgrades to course preparation.
This winter has brought exceptional snow totals, providing a deep and durable base across the entire course. To match these conditions, the Noquemanon trail crew has utilized three grooming machines this season, elevating the level of course preparation to a new standard of professionalism. The additional equipment has allowed for more consistent grooming, improved track quality, and enhanced durability throughout the trail system.
Cold temperatures over recent weeks have helped firm up the track, creating fast, stable skiing despite the large volume of snow. These conditions are ideal for maintaining a solid surface and ensuring the course holds up well for all participants on race day.
Some sections of the course will continue to experience wind-blown snow, particularly in exposed areas such as the Dead River Basin and Deer Lake. These conditions are typical due to open terrain and prevailing winds, and they will be monitored closely as final preparations continue.
Overall, we anticipate the course holding up better than in previous years, resulting in strong, consistent conditions for skiers of all abilities. The combination of record snow, improved grooming capacity, and cold temperatures has set the stage for an excellent Noquemanon Ski Marathon experience.
