Snow has continued with some more lake effect snow on the horizon. Depths of approximately 48 inches can be found west of the Dead River Basin as of 1/17 and we’re ready for the big machines to start working that section on Tuesday. The Deer Lake crossing prep work has been completed and the Basin crossing has been rolled. Things are starting to shape up! For daily grooming reports (and sometimes some bonus pictures!) on the east end of the course (ie the Dead River Basin to Forestville) check the NTN Nordic Pulse grooming reports here:

All systems go!
Weather wise….below average cold temperatures seem to be inevitable for the week at this point – the extended forecast indicates end of week nighttime lows slightly below 0 and highs to top out in the high single digits. We will keep an eye on this. To support us in this we do have the benefit of the National Weather Service Marquette Office who provides event specific forecasts as we get close to race day – they’ve been a great partner for many years and provide a wonderful service to our local events. We’ll have more information to share on this as we go through the week.
